Summary: | The speed that today has taken the courts, regarding the acceleration of shock and thus the movements of the player, able to withstand over time to determine a match, the application of force concerning the depth and speed should carry the ball, and finally, muscle asymmetry that involves this sport leads to determine the importance of strength training as a determining factor in the performance capacity of a tennis player. A review of the manifestations of force must be trained in tennis today, at what age and what of these was performed. It is thought that they can compensate agonist and antagonist muscles to prevent injury or to train explosiveness, as the tool that would give the player an advantage over his opponent's tactics. This knowledge could be applied to training with the athlete, in accordance with the principles of periodization. This article presents a methodological guide, ways to train and what dosage, according to the categories. In addition, a review of some innovative test, which must be run on field tennis player, based on the acceleration shock is attached. |
