Summary: | Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) is the presentation of clinical disorders secondary to an insufficient supply of blood to the brain, which may be of ischemic or hemorrhagic origin and represents one of the main public health problems in industrialized countries. Its presentation is associated with risk factors, which can be classified as modifiable and non-modifiable, within the group of modifiable factors and in which the present study focuses on hypertension. A retrospective longitudinal descriptive observational study was carried out to identify the incidence of stroke in patients older than 55 years with a history of hypertension. A database of clinical records of patients who entered the health service was reviewed. Urgencies of the Navarra Vascular Clinic during the period from 2015 to 2016, the information recorded in this database was filtered obtaining the information of interest for the realization of this study, such as age greater than 55 years, antecedent of arterial hypertension , A new diagnosis of stroke in the study period and a total of 940 patients, of whom 95 had the diagnosis of stroke, found that the type of stroke that presented the most hemorrhagic stroke was 23%; The age group where ACV was most present was 75 to 84 years (28.4%), it was observed that more was found in the female gender with an incidence of 0.90 / 1000 inhabitants; The incidence of stroke in hypertensive patients older than 55 years was 0.10 / 1000 inhabitants. |
