Description
Summary:Regarding today's medical education, is most important, determine how students are learning, wich are the methods and strategies they use to get knowledge. This project It’s a cross-sectional whose main objective is to determine the learning methods used by medical students from U.D.C.A who present the basic science exam through the “Honey- Alonso de Estilos de Aprendizaje (CHAEA)” questionnaires and “Kolb Test”.The sample consisted of 145 medical students from the fifth to seventh semesters to whom a data collection instrument was applied, where is collected information about sociodemographic information, methods and learning styles. Of the 145 students, 15 surveys were discarded that were not adequately filled, so that 130 students were actually analyzed. The study revealed that medical students from fifth to seventh semester were students with a reflective learning method and a divergent learning style, as well as a population group that didn´t present the exam in the academic periods on which the project was based (12 students), where it’s identified that one of the factors in common of the students is the loss of a subject during the university period. Finally, it’s concluded that the pillar methodology in the Faculty of Medicine in the UDCA in the first four semesters is theoretical, which doesn’t agree with the way of learning of the students, therefore it’s recommended in the first semester of medicine to categorize the population in the most appropriate method of learning and in that way to propose education strategies.
