Summary: | The metaparadigm is the most global and abstract perspective of the discipline. The function of the metaparadigm, according to Fawcett, is the identification of the field of study, relating phenomena which present an exclusive perspective, covering all those of interest of the nursing discipline; While at the same time, determining the study object. These phenomena are the person, the environment, the health and the care, which form the metaparadigm and try to provide a universal perspective of the discipline; being the environment the main objective of this work, carrying out a bibliographical revision to know the concept of this one; as an emphasis has been placed on the importance of the environment as an essential factor for the health; However, just a few theoretical studies in nursing have specifically articulated the importance of the environment and nursing practice as a factor in patient outcomes. In addition, we can find different theories and models that also highlight the importance of the environment and care, leading us to the need to know the concept. |
