Summary: | Diabetes is a complex disease, develops when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or also because of excess blood glucose, which leads to the start of a broad metabolic process involving both genetic and environmental factors. This disease has a great impact on public health in Colombia due to the presence of metabolic, physiological chemical alterations and sequelae that this can cause in patients. It has a prevalence of 7-8% and non-adherence to chronic diseases is estimated at 50%, which would explain the long-term and short-term negative effects affecting the quality of life. An observational cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, which included a sample of 80 patients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes from 25 to 64 years old, of which 47 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and attended the service units. of Engativá and Simón Bolívar in the month of October and November of the year 2017. Sociodemographic variables were identified, as well as adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment through two instruments. A bivariate analysis of the data was made. Of the total population, 57% did not have pharmacological adherence, while 43% did, and 94% had non-pharmacological adherence, and 6% did not. Of the variables studied, none had a statistically significant relationship with the therapeutic adherence of DM2. |
