La responsabilidad, el desconocimiento al enfrentar este síndrome, el saber que qué esta condición en su ser querido será permanente, desencadena un sin número factores, que terminan por afectar la vida y generan una cadena de estrés que resulta en un estado de vulnerabilidad para los padres hacia el desarrollo de depresión. La depresión constituye un trastorno de salud mental que tiene un impacto en la vida de una persona y de su familia en particular cuando se presenta en los padres de un individuo con autismo, el identificar síntomas depresivos en los padres, puede mejorar su salud y puede ayudar con el pronóstico de sus hijos. En la actualidad la mayoría de intervenciones existentes se enfocan solamente en el individuo con Trastorno del espectro autista, por lo que se debería concientizar a la comunidad de la salud sobre la depresión en esta población y se debe identificar como un problema que está interfiriendo con el buen desarrollo de los individuosTo put into context, in the world it is considered that 1% of the population suffers from some form of autistic spectrum disorder, this can’t give an idea of the number of families that must live with people with TEA, usually parents or siblings who frequently interrupt aspects of their daily life or their life projects, such as social relationships and / or work among others, this, to meet the needs of the individual with autism spectrum disorder.
