Description
Summary:Introduction: The paper presents results of a quantitative study. Methodology: With descriptive-correlational level and crosssectional design, that was oriented to investigate executive functions such as inhibitory control, mental flexibility, visospatial memory and visospatial orientation, mental planning and risk-benefit calculation, and also the perception of contextual intelligence and the subjective dimension of decision-making in youth league basketball players with lower and higher performance in offensive actions of 1to1. The sample of 19 athletes from the youth basketball league, was classified in two groups of lower and higher performance in offensive actions of 1to1, according to criteria validated by experts. For measuring was employed the tasks of the neuropsychology battery (BANFE), the Contextual Intelligence Questionnaire Perceived in Sport-ICD and the subjective dimension questionnaire in the decision-making process in sport –CETD. Results: Showed the highest statistically significant scores in inhibitory control and mental flexibility, the perception of anticipatory and tactical intelligence and in total contextual intelligence in the group with the highest performance. Was identified also the median positive correlation between inhibitory control, mental flexibility and tactical intelligence; and between calculate risk benefit, mental flexibility and anticipatory intelligence. Conclusions: Indicate the importance of cognitive and emotionalmotivational training to reach the better player performance in offensive actions 1to1 in basketball.
