description Los procesos de exploración y de explotación, están enmarcados en el aprendizaje básico de las organizaciones (Oviedo-García et al., 2014; Pertuz et al., 2019), los cuales pueden ser afectados por limitaciones, como la que plantea García (2005), quien afirma que los procesos de exploración y explotación pueden sufrir de miopía temporal, en la compresión de los resultados ya sean a corto o largo plazo, dependiendo del tipo de proceso. Dado lo anterior, este proyecto tiene el objetivo de identificar las limitaciones en los procesos de exploración y explotación y los patrones de comportamiento en el momento de la decisión estratégica. Para la búsqueda de material, nos apoyamos en la base datos Scopus que nos arrojó un total de 63 artículos los cuales fueron revisados y clasificados según las aportaciones sustanciales y de aplicación. Como resultado de ello, se puede concluir que la principal limitación de los procesos de exploración y exploración es el desequilibrio que los caracteriza al ser fuerzas opuestas que representan conflictos en las organizaciones pero que se complementan debido a que son esenciales para la adaptación de la organización a largo plazo.
