Bothstudies pretend to make suggestions and recommendationsfrom an evaluation of the impact to generate an effectivevirtual education in the Department of Risaralda. It ispossible to visualize an elementary development fromvirtual education, as a result of tools and strategies absencewhich prevents to adopt the available technological tools inan information society. Finally, the only way to reach thisprocess is by incorporating ICT to the Institution EducationalProject (PEI), where the members of the educationalcommunity work together to form new generations in aresponsible way to fortify the region.Este artículo realiza un primer acercamiento al impacto que ha tenido el uso e implementación de las TIC en los procesos formativos en el departamento de Risaralda, se da continuidad al estudio al estudio realizado por los estudiantes de la primera cohorte de la Maestría en Pedagogía y Desarrollo Humano de la UCP sobre “El estado del Arte de Educación Virtual en Risaralda” y que busca dar una visión actual y general de la educación en el departamento, estableciendo necesidades en materia de recursos y metodologías y presentando algunas sugerencias y recomendaciones desde la evaluación del impacto, para generar una verdadera educación virtual en el departamento. Se visualiza un desarrollo elemental de la educación virtual, resultado de falta de insumos y estrategias que permitan que permitan una mayor apropiación de herramientas tecnológicas disponibles en esta sociedad de la información.
