There the University is conceived as a support for the students and teachers for them to accomplish such personal and social mission. This educational concept is developed in the Pedagogical proposal, in the curricular bases, and in the debates that are done about didactics. The article takes these three moments and starting from them explicit some argumentations about key concepts that took place in this stage, such as meaningful learning, teachers formation, problematic nucleus, competences and didactical transposition.La Universidad Católica Popular del Risaralda, de cara a los desafíos que supone la calidad de la educación, ha venido trabajando fuertemente en la construcción de un Nuevo Modelo Académico, sobre la base de una sólida reflexión pedagógica que gravita en torno al concepto de formación, entendida como labor autoformativa del sujeto, de cara a su proyecto de vida y a lo competente que pueda ser como profesional. Allí la Universidad se concibe como apoyo para que los estudiantes y profesores puedan adelantar tal misión personal y social. Esta concepción educativa se desarrolla en la Propuesta Pedagógica, en los Fundamentos Curriculares y en los debates que se adelantan sobre didácticas.
