Dichas características y sus condiciones geográficas han orientado al municipio a crear políticas ambientales que fortalezcan y preserven el patrimonio natural que posee, contando con regulaciones ambientales bastante estrictas en las cuales se busca generar conocimiento sobre la biodiversidad para conservarla y usarla sosteniblemente contribuyendo al desarrollo del territorio. Sin embargo, se desaprovecha el potencial investigativo y económico que posee la ciudad en cuanto a la diversidad ecosistémica, es decir, se presenta un fenómeno de privatización del paisaje que, en conjunto con la falta de programas para incentivar la innovación en temas de gestión sostenible de los activos bioculturales, no han permitido aprovechar sosteniblemente el paisaje cafetero y el paisaje natural del que goza Armenia. Las conclusiones obtenidas plantean varias estrategias que aprovechan el potencial paisajístico de la ciudad sin dejar de proteger la estructura ecológica ambiental. Abstract: One of the main potentialities of Armenia is the diversity represented in the flora and fauna, variety of thermal floors and soils suitable for agriculture. These characteristics and their geographical conditions have guided the municipality to create environmental policies that strengthen and preserve the natural heritage that it possesses, with quite strict environmental regulations in which it seeks to generate knowledge about biodiversity to conserve it and use it sustainably, contributing to the development of the territory. . However, the investigative and economic potential of the city in terms of ecosystem diversity is wasted, that is, a phenomenon of landscape privatization is presented that, together with the lack of programs to encourage innovation in sustainable management issues of biocultural assets, have not allowed the sustainable use of the coffee landscape and the natural landscape that Armenia enjoys.
