Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2008La comunidad terapéutica es considerada un método estratégico de intervención terapéutica y educativa, diseñada para la rehabilitación y la reinserción social de personas con problemas de conducta asociados al consumo de drogas. El abuso de sustancias psicoactivas constituye un grave problema social, mas aun si ocurre dentro de los establecimientos penitenciarios y carcelarios, pues tal consumo esta íntimamente asociado a la delincuencia, en promedio un 60% de la población interna en la reclusión de mujeres la badea admitió haber cometido el delito por el que se encuentra condenada, bajo los efectos de las sustancias psicoactivas, lo cual es mas grave aun, primero porque de no realizarse un proceso con este tipo de internas, dirigido al cese del consumo se limitaría la posibilidad de cambio en algunas personas que con ayuda y algunas oportunidades posiblemente podrían cambiar sus estilos de vida actuales por nuevos hábitos mas saludables y socialmente aceptados, y segundo el nivel de delincuencia continuaría creciendo paulatinamente sin que se hiciera nada para evitarlo. Los centros carcelarios fueron diseñados con la finalidad de que individuos infractores de la ley, salden su deuda con la sociedad y luego logren reinsertarse nuevamente a la misma, pero para que tal reinserción sea optima se necesita no solo que las personas cumplan con el tiempo de condena, sino que además deben incluirse en procesos de tratamiento y seguimiento, tanto psicológico, medico, psiquiátrico como educativos y laborales. Para dar cumplimiento a lo anterior en algunos establecimientos penitenciarios se a optado por el modelo de Comunidad Terapéutica. Pero no es suficiente que las personas participen de los procesos de comunidad terapéutica sino que además se requiere que se adhieran a estos, de esta manera podría predecirse el éxito del proceso terapéutico, ¿pero que influye para que las internas se adhieran a los procesos en la comunidad terapéutica? Principalmente parece que la relación entre terapeuta-paciente es fundamental en el proceso de adherencia. /Abstract: The therapeutic community is considered a strategic method of therapeutic and educational intervention, designed for rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with behavioral problems associated with consumption of drugs.
