Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2017Durante la historia reciente de Colombia, el café ha sido el producto insignia no solo de la economía nacional sino también el elemento sociocultural que marcó la vida de la sociedad colombiana, creando una identidad de país. Sin embargo, durante los últimos años, la realidad de la caficultura colombiana, se ha visto de cierta forma enmarcado por un fenómeno que no solo ha afectado a los productores de café de Colombia, sino en general de toda Latinoamérica: la crisis del relevo generacional y el envejecimiento de los cafetales. Sin embargo, hay quienes afirman que es un proceso normal que se debe a las causas coyunturales producto de la oleada de la globalización, mientras que otros expresan su preocupación sobre este fenómeno y manifiesta angustia sobre el devenir de la cultura cafetera. En esta investigación, se aborda la raíz de la problemática y el punto de vista de varios actores implicados en el fenómeno, teniendo como punto de partida, 4 municipios de los departamentos de Caldas y Risaralda, además de presentar las soluciones que desde el gobierno y el Comité de Cafeteros se vienen adelantando para frenar esta crisis.During the recent history of Colombia, coffee has been the flagship product not only of the national economy but also the sociocultural element that marked the life of Colombian society, creating a country identity. However, in recent years, the reality of Colombian coffee has been framed in a certain way by a phenomenon that has not been affected by coffee producers in Colombia, but in general throughout Latin America: the crisis of the relay generation and the aging of coffee plantations. However, there are those who affirm that it is a normal process that is due to the conjunctural causes produced by the wave of globalization, while others express their concern about this phenomenon and express anguish at the memory of the coffee culture.
