Teniendo en cuenta que todos los países, siguiendo los lineamientos del desarrollo sostenible, deben velar porque se cuente con una cobertura universal en salud, la demanda de medicamentos continuamente se eleva, situación que genera preocupación en especial porque el país no cuenta con una industria suficientemente fortalecida para producir los medicamentos necesarios para abastecer las clínicas, hospitales, droguerías, entre otros. Por tanto, existen medicamentos que no son fabricados en Colombia y que deben ser traídos de otros países, y parte de allí el interés por desarrollar un estudio que permita analizar los aspectos más relevantes del proceso de importación y su impacto en el sector salud. El estudio inicia entonces con la identificación de las empresas de la región que realizan importación de medicamentos, encontrando que no son muchas y que la que se encuentra mayormente posicionada es Audifarma, se procedió a la realización de una entrevista, pero no se obtuvieron los resultados esperados, toda vez que gran parte de la información es considerada confidencial, siendo esta una limitante que tuvo gran impacto en el desarrollo del proyecto. En el desarrollo del segundo objetivo, se estableció el desarrollo del proceso de importación que debe llevarse a cabo para nacionalizar las mercancías en el país, y se analizaron las cifras de las importaciones realizadas por Colombia en los últimos tres años, desde países como Estados unidos, China, España y Corea. En el tercer objetivo, se toman los aspectos relevantes que impactan en la cadena de suministro que inicia con la adquisición de las mercancías y termina con el servicio postventa al cliente. Por último, se definen las conclusiones generales, logrando determinar que los medicamentos hacen parte de los productos más importados en el país, representando para el año 2019 un 2,9% del total del PIB nacional, y teniendo en cuenta que Colombia es considerado un país emergente, las posibilidades de crecimiento para el sector farmacéutico son significativas. Abstract:The marketing of medicines is a fundamental part of the value chain of the health sector, since they are a means of contributing to the quality of life of people when they suffer from any disease. Taking into account that all countries, following the guidelines of sustainable development, must ensure that there is universal health coverage, the demand for medicines is continually rising, a situation that generates concern, especially because the country does not have an industry sufficiently strengthened to produce the necessary medicines to supply clinics, hospitals, drugstores, among others. Therefore, there are medicines that are not manufactured in Colombia and that must be brought from other countries, and part of it is the interest in developing a study that allows analyzing the most relevant aspects of the import process and its impact on the health sector.
