Osorio Agudelo, Valentina2021-02-22T14:50:07Z2021-02-22T14:50:07Z2020-12-07DDMPSI324http://hdl.handle.net/10785/7206Artículo de investigación (Psicología), Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2020.Esta investigación parte de la participación ciudadana, entendida como derecho fundamental de todas las personas que conforman las sociedades democráticas, con el fin de vislumbrar las actitudes de la comunidad sorda frente a dicha participación en la ciudad de Pereira, teniendo en cuenta las barreas históricas que han atravesado para abrirse paso en el entramado y la vida social, como también las políticas públicas que los respaldan en el ejercicio de sus derechos. Se enmarca en un enfoque cualitativo de diseño hermenéutico puesto que busca la comprensión de las narrativas de los participantes desde el reconocimiento de su diversidad lingüística y cultural. Los participantes son personas sordas mayores de edad y la información es recolectada por medio de la aplicación de grupos focales. Los resultados evidencian que la discriminación tiene un peso importante en la construcción de las actitudes de las personas sordas y que esto incide directamente en sus modos de participación, así como también la necesidad de un mayor involucramiento por parte de los oyentes en la construcción de sociedades más incluyentes. La presente investigación aporta a los estudios de la psicología social con la comunidad sorda tanto a nivel local como nacional y evidencia la necesidad generar nuevas propuestas que aborden este tema. / Abstract: Our study is based on civic participation, understood as a fundamental right of every member of democratic societies. We aimed to analyze the attitudes of the deaf community towards civic participation in Pereira, Colombia, taking into account the historic barriers they have encountered to pave their way into the social fabric and life; and the domestic policies that support the exercise of their rights. Our study is qualitative research with a hermeneutic approach. We sought to understand the narratives of the participants regarding their acknowledgment of their cultural, linguistic diversity. The participants were deaf adults, and data was gathered through focus groups. Our findings show that discrimination has a relevant effect on deaf people's attitude formation. This, along with the need for a deeper involvement from the hearing people to build a more inclusive society, influence deaf people's manifestations of civic participation. This research represents a contribution to social psychology on a local and national scale and reveals the need for new approaches on the subject at hand.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
