Facultad de Ciencias Humanas Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2019El objetivo de esta investigacion es describir el nivel de adherencia al tratamiento y la Calidad de Vida (CDV) de cuidadores de niños y adolescentes con Labio y Paladar Hendido (LPH) que hacen parte de la fundación sonríe, la metodología es cuantitativa de alcance descriptivo con diseño de corte transversal de tipo no experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 40 cuidadores informales. Los instrumentos empleados fueron Cuestionario de adherencia al tratamiento médico en cuidadores principales, Escala de carga del cuidador de Zarit y Cuestionario de la salud mental de Goldberg - GHQ-28. Los resultados no reportan un bajo índice en la adherencia y CDV, el cual fue observado por las investigadoras en las necesidades de la fundación, pero, que finalmente no repercute de forma significativa en los resultados de los cuestionarios. Conclusiones: Aunque no se presentan a nivel general, se evidencio presencia de síntomas a menor escala en la particularidad de las categorías; siendo las madres quienes tienen mas probabilidad de presentar una menor CDV, debido a la falta de oportunidades y a las reestricciones a las que se ven expuestas por ser las cuidadoras principales./ Abstract: The present investigation aims to describe the level of adherence to treatment and the quality of life (QOL) of caregivers of children with LPH from the foundation smiles, of quantitative methodology of descriptive scope, with cross-sectional design of non-experimental type. The sample consisted of 40 informal caregivers.The instruments used were structured interviews on sociodemographic data, Adherence questionnaire to medical treatment in main caregivers, Zarit caregiver burden scale and Goldberg Mental Health Questionnaire - GHQ-28. The results do not report a low adherence index and CDV, which was analyzed by the researchers in the needs of the foundation, but, that ultimately does not have a significant effect on the results of the questionnaires. Conclusions: Although they are not presented at a general level, the presence of symptoms on a smaller scale was evidenced in the particularity of the categories; being mothers who are more likely to have a lower CDV, due to the lack of opportunities and the restraints to which they are exposed because they are the main caregivers.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
