It invites to think of a different kind of science fiction benefic for humanity. It shows the way Colombia has advanced in scientific research, according to reports given by Colciencias, and offers some suggestions on how this new society should get prepared to face future developments.El siguiente artículo presenta algunos antecedentes relacionados con la ciencia ficción desde antes de Jesucristo hasta nuestros días, así mismo, referencia los adelantos tecnológicos basados en el desarrollo de la nanotecnología, sus orígenes, sus unidades de medida, sus beneficios, sus peligros para la humanidad y algunas de las instituciones científicas que se destacan a nivel mundial por su trabajo sobre el tema.
