Summary: | In Colombia, the current coffee activity is concentrated in small coffee producers whose areas of planting are limited. Recent research on the industry have been interested in deepening the knowledge of technological and socio-economic particularities regarding these farmers, taking into reference the case of peasant economy units to jointly determine their production decisions and consumption. The aim of this paper is to review studies that account for the transformation of the country's coffee reality after the breaking of the CoffeePact, highlighting the most important aspects considered by the coffee institutions for addressing politics which foster the economic sustainability and welfare of farmers. |
