La presente investigación se concibe bajo la formación integral que propendemos en los colegios e implica que las comprensiones académicas de las Ciencias Sociales estén al servicio y al bien de los demás; que el servicio social obligatorio trascienda lo normativo y pueda ser agenciado de tal manera que logre el fin de todo proceso educativo como lo es la construcción social, el servicio a la humanidad. Con lo cual se busca otorgar un soporte sólido en el ámbito normativo con sentido de trascendencia a la proyección social institucional./ Abstract: This research aims to analyze the obligatory social service experiences in two private educational institutions, Catholic and secular, with the purpose to evidence the link between learning and service as means of appropriation of the knowledge acquired in the classroom classes placed in a real context and with it the possibility of acquiring new learning, as well as the social influence that each experience has and its relevance within the PEI as established by the Ministry of National Education in Resolution 4210 of 1996. The current investigation is developed under the integral education influence that we promote at schools whose main purpose is to use the Social Studies understandings at the service and wellness of others.
