This article tries to contribute to a better understanding by national and regional entrepreneurs of what human beings represent in terms of potential and talent and the contribution they can make to the fulfillment of organizational purposes.Este artículo hace parte del estudio “Apuntes sobre el behaviorismo en administración”, dirigido por el doctor Francisco López Gallego, para optar al título de Magister en Administración de la Universidad EAFIT. Consiste en una revisión teórica, panorámica y compilatoria sobre algunos aspectos referidos al Factor Humano en el trabajo, entendidos en un contexto histórico-económicosocial, partiendo de las preocupaciones de la racionalidad económica en cuanto al desempeño y productividad de los trabajadores y su incidencia al interior de la empresa en relación con el cumplimiento de los objetivos. Siendo una revisión y reflexión teórica, está íntimamente ligada a la práctica administrativa y tiene plena vigencia para la actual dirección empresarial.
