En esta vereda conviven 837 personas campesinas, la gran mayoría dedican su actividad económica a la agricultura cafetera y ganadera, prestando servicios alimentarios al casco urbano de Belén de Umbría y municipios aledaños, dentro de este contexto se busca aplicar conceptos de integración social que articulen y complementen la condición social actual de la vereda por medio del espacio público efectivo. Las ultimas medidas tomadas por el gobierno nacional establece la necesidad de implementar programas del posconflicto que garanticen por medio de los centros culturales y comunitarios, procesos de formación en música, danza, talleres de lectura y escritura, teatro, artes plásticas, entre otras, dirigidos al mejoramiento sustancial de la calidad de vida de la población rural colombiana. El centro comunitario Santa helena, nace como una respuesta a las necesidades deportivas, recreativas, culturales y productivas evidenciadas por la población rural, así mismo, este se forja como un lugar académico para los diferentes convenios que fortalezcan las dinámicas y técnicas agrícolas propias del lugar. /Abstract: In the present monograph, the architectural proposal of a rural community center is presented, which seeks to emphasize the social integration of the rural populations of the Santa Helena village in the municipality of Belén de Umbría. In this village, 837 peasants live together, the great majority of which dedicate their economic activity to coffee and livestock farming, providing food services to the urban area of Belén de Umbría and surrounding municipalities. Within this context, the aim is to apply concepts of social integration that articulate and complement the current social condition of the village by means of effective public spaces. The latest measures taken by the national government establish the need to implement postconflict programs that guarantee, through cultural and community centers, training processes in music, dance, reading and writing workshops, theater, and plastic arts, among others, aimed at substantially improving the quality of life of Colombia's rural population.
