Se preguntan por la memoria visual real que se registró y otros por la que los medios de comunicación, en especial los impresos, quisieron transmitir a los habitantes por medio de sus imágenes. El periódico La Tarde, es un medio, de pensamiento liberal, regional que lleva 30 años informando e ilustrando la realidad diaria de la ciudad, fuera de esto posee un reconocimiento local por ser uno de los periódicos de la ciudad más leído, por esta razón se seleccionó para realizar esta investigación, que trata de descubrir cuál es la ciudad que se representa en las fotografías de la página local del periódico La Tarde, en los últimos seis años. A través de una investigación histórica -hermenéutica, haciendo el análisis de contenido respectivo a las 22 fotografías seleccionadas, las entrevistas a los reporteros gráficos, al jefe de redacción y al diagramador de La Tarde, se ha llegado a unas conclusiones, que más adelante se denotará. Este proyecto puede ser de utilidad, no sólo para los medios de comunicación sino para la comunidad misma. A partir de los terremotos de 1995 y 1999 en Pereira, las administraciones locales empezaron a crear mega proyectos de renovación urbana que le dieron fuerza a la ciudad, para el embellecimiento no sólo físico sino también comercial, haciendo referencia a que Pereira es el punto de oro del Eje Cafetero, por su ubicación estratégica. Teniendo en cuenta que la fotografía es un legado de la humanidad, el foco de la siguiente investigación se centra en la fotografía de prensa que comprende la documental y el fotoperiodismo, estas son realizadas por reporteros gráficos que emplean todos los géneros del periodismo gráfico. Es aquí donde se quiere marcar la importancia de la fotografía y más cuando se trata la relacionada con la prensa, el papel fundamental que desempeña, el legado y el testimonio de que algo si existió, sí sucedió en las calles de nuestra Pereira. Escogiendo un medio impreso, el periódico La Tarde, pues su trayectoria en el ámbito regional ha sido de gran prestigio y credibilidad, treinta años de historia, se toma como referencia los últimos seis años para analizar el concepto de ciudad que nos proporcionan sus páginas locales. Se revisaron todas las páginas locales del periódico en el tiempo propuesto en la investigación y se seleccionaron 22 fotografías al azar, teniendo en cuenta la trascendencia e importancia gráfica de cada uno de los elementos. Inicialmente se preseleccionaron así: En el 2000, 33 fotografías; en el 2001, 38; en el 2002, 51; en el 2003, 63; en el 2004, 59 y 2005, 64. Con un total de 311 fotografías; pero finalmente se seleccionaron 22 fotografías que representan los hechos más importantes de los últimos 6 años. De manera inicial esta muestra arroja que la mayor proporción de las gráficas publicadas están relacionadas con proyectos de infraestructura vial, construcción de complejos comerciales y habitacionales. Y las otras gráficas muestran lo social pero de manera superficial es decir, no involucran a la gente el factor humano, la verdadera razón de ser de un conglomerado habitacional, es decir, la ciudad.Many people from Pereira are asking about the way people see the city. They wonder about the real visual memory that was recorded and others about the image that the media, especially the printed media, wanted to convey to the inhabitants through their images. The newspaper La Tarde is a liberal, regional media that has been reporting and illustrating the daily reality of the city for 30 years. Apart from this, it has a local recognition for being one of the most read newspapers in the city. For this reason, it was selected to carry out this research, which tries to discover which city is represented in the photographs of the local page of the newspaper La Tarde, in the last six years. Through a historical-hermeneutic investigation, doing the respective content analysis of the 22 selected photographs, the interviews with the photojournalists, the editor-in-chief and the layout designer of La Tarde, some conclusions have been reached, which will be noted later. This project can be useful, not only for the media but for the community itself. Since the earthquakes of 1995 and 1999 in Pereira, local administrations began to create mega urban renewal projects that gave strength to the city, not only for physical but also commercial beautification, referring to the fact that Pereira is the golden point of the Coffee Belt, due to its strategic location. Considering that photography is a legacy of humanity, the focus of the following research is centered on press photography, which includes documentary and photojournalism, these are carried out by photojournalists who use all genres of graphic journalism. It is here that we want to highlight the importance of photography and more so when it is related to the press, the fundamental role it plays, the legacy and the testimony that something did exist, it did happen in the streets of our Pereira. Choosing a print medium, the newspaper La Tarde, because its trajectory in the regional sphere has been of great prestige and credibility, thirty years of history, the last six years are taken as a reference to analyze the concept of city that its local pages provide us. All the local pages of the newspaper were reviewed in the time proposed in the research and 22 photographs were selected at random, taking into account the significance and graphic importance of each of the elements. Initially, they were preselected as follows: In 2000, 33 photographs; in 2001, 38; in 2002, 51; in 2003, 63; in 2004, 59 and in 2005, 64. With a total of 311 photographs; but finally, 22 photographs were selected that represent the most important events of the last 6 years. Initially, this sample shows that the largest proportion of the published graphics are related to road infrastructure projects, construction of commercial and housing complexes.
