The funding decision has an implication on its financialperformance indicators, such as the level of debt, capital cost, the assumedrisk and lending capacity. With this article, it is pretended to present the mostrepresentative results regarding the perception microenterprise managers haverelated to its financial management and the acquisition of loans. In this way,is intended to contribute to the improvement of the financial education thatmicro-entrepreneurs have, this is accomplished through a qualitative researchsupported by a descriptive methodologyLa microempresa es una unidad económica creada por iniciativa de suspropietarios; su aporte inicial de capital proviene principalmente de ahorros detrabajos anteriores, aportes familiares y préstamos bancarios o extrabancarios.Asimismo, una de las problemáticas de la microempresa correspondea su estructura de financiamiento. La decisión de financiamiento tieneimplicaciones sobre sus indicadores de desempeño financiero, tales como elnivel de endeudamiento, el costo de capital, el riesgo asumido y la capacidad definanciamiento. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer los resultados másrepresentativos sobre la percepción que tiene el microempresario respecto alefecto que produce en su gestión financiera la adquisición de crédito bancarioy/o extrabancario. De esta forma, se busca aportar elementos que contribuyancon el mejoramiento en el nivel de educación financiera que poseen losmicroempresarios.
