Fav orhipotesis about the discrimination capacities from poverty that“feminine leadership” variable has at home.El estudio aporta referentes empíricos de los hogares del municipio de Pereira, en lo concerniente a las condiciones socioeconómicas que los caracterizan y los factores que aumentan la probabilidad de pobreza de un hogar. Para la comprensión del fenómeno de la pobreza, el estudio parte del enfoque de capacidades y derechos, en cuya dimensión teórica este fenómeno tiene su origen en la carencia de dotaciones iniciales en las personas, y recurre a las técnicas de discriminación logística para estimar los factores asociados a la probabilidad de pobreza de un hogar. En general los resultados aportan evidencia sobre el papel que juegan las variables relacionadas con el desarrollo de las capacidades humanas en los integrantes del hogar, el acceso al trabajo, el tamaño del hogar y la dependencia económica, en la probabilidad de que el mismo enfrente una situación de pobreza. De igual manera, ofrece nueva información que favorece la hipótesis sobre la capacidad discriminadora de pobreza que posee la variable “jefatura femenina” del hogar.
