Description
Summary:Current industrial production systems nowadays use heavy metals for the extraction of a material or as an element in the refining of a particular product which in principle results in obtaining the desired product with relatively low production cost. However, using these metals presents a serious environmental problem due to their high levels of toxicity for the organisms which they interact once they are discharged. Therefore, various methods have been developed to deal with these metals once they are in the water and the methods to analyze them. A comprehensive and update search was made of the sources, effects and toxicity in the living beings, analysis methods and the various techniques of heavy metal treatment. As a result, the researcher will be more prepared to have current information on the treatments to be taken into account in the handling of heavy metals.
