spelling 2022-06-01T19:55:16Z2022-06-01T19:55:16Z2019-08-08https://revistas.ucp.edu.co/index.php/gestionyregion/article/view/864http://hdl.handle.net/10785/11586The literature related to health and economic development allows learning aboutdifferent studies that have found a direct relationship between higher per capitaincome and a higher level of health (Lee & Mills, 1983; Ehrlich & Lui, 1991;Barro, 1996a y Mayer-Foulkes, 2001).In the methodological process, Barro (1996a) has indicated that the instrumentalvariables, in this case, are used to explain all the information available for thedependent variable; the autoregressive vector (AR) represent the past values ofthe dependent variable and the average mobiles (AM) are the weighted sum ofcurrent and lagged random disturbances.The relationship between the coefficient of elasticity Gini and the infantmortality rate (IMR), presented a positive sign; therefore, a high level of incomeinequality causes a higher rate of infant mortality (Barro, 1996b; Mayer-Foulkes,2001).Furthermore, in a series of cross-country macroeconomic studie,s also foundevidence of significant impact of life expectancy on economic growth (Barro andSala-i-Martin, 1995; Barro, 1996b).La literatura relacionada con la salud y el desarrollo económico permite conocer diferentes estudios que han hallado una relación directa entre un mayor ingreso por habitante y un mayor nivel de salud (Lee & Mills, 1983; Ehrlich y Lui, 1991; Barro, 1996a); Mayer-Foulkes, 2001).En el proceso metodológico, Barro (1996a) ha indicado que las variables instrumentales, en este caso, se utilizan para explicar con toda la información disponible a la variable dependiente; los vectores autorregresivos (AR) representan los valores pasados de la variable dependiente y las medias móviles (MA) son la suma ponderada de perturbaciones aleatorias actuales y rezagadas. La relación entre el coeficiente de elasticidad de Gini y la tasa de mortalidad infantil (TMI), presentó un signo positivo; por tanto, un nivel alto de desigualdad en el ingreso produce una mayor tasa de mortalidad infantil (Barro, 1996b; Mayer-Foulkes, 2001).
