Description
Summary:This paper presents the experimental validation of the benefits providedby the cascade configuration of dc/dc converters over classical single dc/dc converters. The results obtained prove that the cascade connection ofdc/dc converters, despite insert additional parasitic resistances, improvesthe voltage conversion ratio and efficiency of a step-up conversion chain. In addition, the adopted cascade configuration also reduces the currentharmonics injected to sensible power sources like fuel cells or photovoltaicgenerators. Finally, a simple procedure to experimentally identify theinductor parasitic loss resistance on boost converters was also introduced.
