Para ello, se inicia reconociendo el panorama actual de la población escolar colombiana frente al consumo de SPA, posteriormente se identifica esta población como la más vulnerable por sus condiciones físicas, cognitivas, emocionales, familiares, contextuales por mencionar algunas. Se reconocen algunas características de los programas preventivos en torno al consumo de sustancias psicoactivas a nivel nacional e internacional, resaltando la importancia de formar a los docentes, involucrar a la familia en los programas, realizar diagnósticos como punto de partida y contar con una metodología para evaluar y conocer resultados de impacto en la implementación de dichos programas. Así mismo, se hace un acercamiento a lo más actual en prevención de consumo de SPA, liderado por el Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social, así como también las disposiciones que dicta el Ministerio de Educación Nacional (MENB) en relación con esta temática. El propósito consiste en dar respuesta al siguiente interrogante ¿es la prevención de sustancias psicoactivas en el entorno educativo de obligatorio cumplimiento, o un componente liderado desde la sensibilidad social? Encontrando que a nivel normativo existen directrices que dan cuenta de la importancia del componente de prevención en este caso en el entorno educativo; sin embargo, la realidad da cuenta de que la sensibilidad social si logra movilizar el liderazgo en la realización de acciones encaminadas a la prevención. Abstract: This paper seeks to generate a reflection on the way in which the Prevention of the use of Psychoactive Substances SPA is addressed, in one of the main environments of the life course of a human being, as is the educational environment. To this end, it begins recognizing the current situation of the Colombian school population against the consumption of SPA, identifying this population as the most vulnerable due to their physical, cognitive, emotional, family, contextual and other conditions. Some characteristics of preventive programs at national and international level are recognized, highlighting the importance of training teachers, involving the family in the programs, making diagnoses as a starting point and having a methodology to evaluate and know results of impact on the implementation of programs. It is approached to the most current prevention in SPA, led by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as is recognized as from the Ministry of Education also dictate provisions on the subject.
