Facultad de Arquitectura y Diseño, Pereira, 2013Siglos atrás la arquitectura se caracterizó por la manera en que se abstraía el entorno generando expresiones culturales tradicionales y estilos regionales propios, que reflejaban diseños mas funcionales que respondieran con la necesidad del momento, esto para darle al hombre un confort temporal. Estadesaparecióde cierto modo al tomar actitudes modernistas, resultando un internacionalismo que fue utilizadocomo catapulta al trópico para adaptar coherentemente formas, conceptos, materiales y valores que demuestren una arquitectura con influencias regionales propuestas pero también con un estilo contemporáneo. El siglo XXI inicia adoptando una postura responsable y consiente del medio ambiente, disminuyendo las posibilidades de construir y diseñar sin atender a las exigencias que tienen alrededor, siendo prioridad el compromiso adquirido para mejorar una región y la preocupación para obtener soluciones exitosas en esta. El clima es un factor determinante en las decisiones tomadas a la hora de diseñar, pues los parámetros que actúan en cada situación hacen que loslugares tengan condiciones distintas. Estos son clasificadas en cinco estados climáticos básicos: tropical-húmedo, seco, templado, boscoso-frío y polar. En las edificaciones trópico-húmedas puede reconocerse inicialmente la utilización de sistemas constructivos para techos, pues elementos como: grandes aleros, fuertes inclinaciones para la recolección de agua efectiva y fachadas perforadas, forman parte de elementos destacados que hacen reconocible una arquitectura de zonas húmedas, de lluvia y de fuerte radiación solar. Jean Dollfus en su muestrario de viviendas de todo el mundo afirma que: ‘el principal objetivo de las construcciones ha sido siempre la búsqueda de las condiciones óptimas de confort térmico donde la tipología constructiva se encuentra definida más por las zonas climáticas que por las fronteras territoriales’². Por ende los elementos de diseño arquitectónico que caracteriza los climas trópico-húmedos suelen ser muy ventilados, ligeros y protegidos del sol en todas sus caras. /Abstract: This realizes practical work, the knowledge acquired in building the Panama Pacific Native Residential by the Company Orion Engineering Civil Contractors.
