The principal aim is recognize the hand made objects as a form of creation inwich the paticular characteristics of the region play an important role for itsunderstanding as a cultural fact.Handmade objects are a cultural manifestation in terms of its creation, developmentand preservation should be noticed inside of the maker comunity context where, bothculture and technique, become in two principles of study toward the recognition of thehandy craft objects as aesthetics fact.En este artículo presenta, desde el estudio de la región y en particular desde el producto artesanal, cómo se pueden generar procesos de aprendizaje a través de la vinculación de los estudiantes de Diseño Industrial de la Universidad Católica de Pereira en diferentes realidades culturales, estéticas y productivas, donde el objetivo principal es reconocer al producto artesanal como una forma de creación, en el cual las características particulares de la región juegan un papel importante para su comprensión como un hecho cultural y técnico.
