Estudios realizados en los últimos años han permitido conocer parte de lo que acontece al interior de las familias cuando esto sucede, cómo vivencian el proceso, qué pasa con sus roles, cuáles son sus dudas, temores, fortalezas, expectativas, mayores esperanzas y alegrías. Objetivo: Comprender los significados sobre el vínculo afectivo, presente en madres con sus bebés prematuros o con bajo peso al nacer del Municipio de Cartago, Valle del Cauca. Método: Para conocer la realidad que viven las madres gestantes cuando tienen sus bebés prematuros o con bajo peso al nacer, se realizó un estudio fenomenológico de tipo cualitativo con diez madres, mediante una entrevista semi-estructurada que permitiera explicar la naturaleza de las experiencias a partir de la comprensión de su mundo. Resultados: Los hallazgos muestran que para las madres enterarse de su embarazo, fue un evento importante ya que, para la mayoría de ellas, fueron embarazos deseados y planeados junto con sus parejas quienes, reconocían los cambios en la dinámica y estructura familiar por el nuevo miembro de la familia, pero al que estaban dispuestos a enfrentar, fortaleciendo cada vez más el vínculo mediante sus cuidados. Conclusión: Estos hallazgos confirman que es de gran relevancia para las madres establecer vínculos con sus hijos mediante sus cuidados, pasando a un segundo plano el hecho de ser mujeres para convertirse en madres cuidadoras, además de la importancia del apoyo y acompañamiento familiar en el proceso de desarrollo y vinculación afectiva con su recién nacido.\ Abstract: People who are going to have a baby, suppose that both the gestation and labor are going to have a normal course, which is why they are almost never prepared for a premature birth or low weight. Studies made in the last years have allowed knowledge on part of what happens inside the families when this happens, how they live the process, what happens with their roles, what are their doubts, fears, strengths, expectations, biggest hopes and happiness. Objective: Understand the meanings of the emotional bond, present in moms with their premature babies or babies with a low weight at birth in the town of Cartago Valle The Cauca . Method: To know the reality lived by pregnant mothers who have premature babies or with low weight at birth, a phenomenological cualitative study was made with ten mothers, through a semi-structured interview that allowed an explanation of the nature of their experiences through the comprehension of their world. Results: the results show that finding out about their pregnancies was an important event since, for most of them, it was a desired and planned pregnancy along with their partners who, recognized the changes in the famlily dinamic and structure made by the new member of the family, changes they were willing to face, stengthening their bond more each day through their caring. Conclusion: These results confirm that it is very important for the mothers to establish a bond with their children through the caring, making being a woman less important and focusing on becoming caring mothers, also the importance of the support and company of their family members in the process of development and emotional bonding with their newborn.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
