De acuerdo con lo anterior, el concepto de desarrollo ha pasado por diferentes enfoques y visiones, incluso ha estado dividido entre mejorar la situación económica y tecnológica de los países subdesarrollados o comunidades rezagadas, y un desarrollo integral que tome en cuenta ejes como lo social, económico, cultural y humano. Esta investigación nace desde la inquietud de analizar cuál es el punto de equilibrio tanto en las diferentes visiones del concepto de desarrollo, como en la aplicación de los proyectos de cooperación internacional para el desarrollo. Para analizar el despliegue del concepto de etno especificidad del desarrollo en las intervenciones de cooperación internacional y sus implicaciones en términos de resultados obtenidos, se hace en primer lugar una revisión de literatura y de las teorías que nos orientan hacia la aclaración de la evolución de los conceptos de desarrollo y cooperación internacional hasta llegar a una visión etno específica. En segundo lugar, se pone en relación la perspectiva etno específica de las intervenciones con los conceptos de necesidad, capacidades y justicia social. Por último, se analiza el caso del proyecto de cooperación internacional Emberá Werá en la comunidad Emberá Chamí, implementado en los años 2007 al 2011. A través de una metodología descriptiva, se explica la dinámica interna del proyecto y sus resultados en términos de etno especificidad. Abstract: An international cooperation project with an ethno specific character allows the target community of the intervention the possibility to generate critical thinking and introspection to foster change, improvement, autonomy and empowerment through actions designed and carried out from the specificity of the culture and customs of the beneficiaries. The concept of development has gone through different approaches and visions, it has even been divided between improving the economic and technological situation of underdeveloped countries or lagging communities, and an integral development that takes into account social, economic, cultural and human aspects. The aim of this dissertation is analyzing the different approaches to the concept of development and its application to international development cooperation projects. Specifically, we will analyze the concept of ethno development in international cooperation projects and its implications in terms of results obtained. First, we will present a review of literature and theories that guide us towards clarifying the evolution of the concepts of development and international cooperation until reaching an ethno specific vision. Second, the ethno specific perspective of the interventions will be related to the concepts of need, capacities and social justice. Finally, we will analyze the case of the Emberá Werá international cooperation project in the Emberá Chamí community, implemented in the years 2007 to 2011.
