Summary:Usually the convergence phenomenon has been understood asthe approach of income per capita between regions andcountries. However, during the last years, have existedtheoretical and empirical surveys that tackle the convergenceissue related with the unemployment rate. This survey has thepurpose to review theories, from supply and demand,explaining if it is possible to wait for regional convergence inunemployment rates phenomenon, and to examine theempirical evidence on these convergence processes in someEuropean countries and Colombia.
