Mediante una metodología cuantitativa, descriptiva, transversal de tipo experimental la cual se aplicó a una población de 297 hombres y mujeres mayores de la ciudad de Pereira, los cuales fueron seleccionados mediante muestreo por conveniencia teniendo en cuenta el acceso a la muestra por parte de los investigadores, a la cual se le aplico la Escala de Apreciación Corporal (BAS). Los resultados indican que la mayoría de personas eran mujeres adultas, en la que no se evidencia diferencia estadística entre las personas que con y sin procedimientos cosméticos. Se concluye que la realización de procedimientos estéticos no influye en la apreciación corporal. Abstract: The objective of this study was to identify the body appreciation of people who have undergone cosmetic procedures in the city of Pereira. Through a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional experimental methodology which was applied to a population of 297 older men and women of the city of Pereira, who were selected by sampling for convenience considering the access to the sample by the researchers, to which it was applied the Body Appreciation Scale (BAS). The results indicate that most people were adult women, in which there is no statistical difference between people with and without cosmetic procedures.
