Facultad de Ciencias Humanas,Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2009En el ministerio publico se Jesús, según algunos relatos de los evangelios, encontramos momentos de encuentro del Señor con miembros de las milicias de ese tiempo, soldados y centuriones al servicio del ejercito Romano, podríamos decir con toda seguridad que fueron los primeros anuncios de la buena nueva a este grupo de hombres sometidos a la disciplina de una formación para enfrentar los conflictos de las distintas épocas de sociedad. Tal es el caso de Mt 8,5-13, cuando un centurión romano acude a Jesús para pedir la curación de uno de sus subalternos dejando ver en su petición humilde y respetuosa una profunda confianza y fe en el “Señor” como el mismo lo llama, gesto que le mereció de Jesús uno de los más hermosos elogios de los evangelios “Os aseguro que en Israel no he encontrado en nadie una fe tan grande “(v. 10). En otro pasaje del evangelista Marcos en el capítulo 15, relato de la pasión, encontramos una hermosa profesión de fe de un centurión cuando al ver a Jesús expirar dice: “Verdaderamente este hombre era Hijo de Dios” (v.39). Ambos textos nos dejan ver la sensibilidad de los hombres de armas al anuncio de la buena nueva que también para sus vidas puede significar un cambio significativo por el encuentro no con una doctrina sino con una persona, Jesús, el hijo de Dios. Para nuestra sociedad colombiana y particularmente en el contexto de la ciudad de Cartago y su batallón “Vencedores” es importante reflexionar como nuestros soldados siguen teniendo la misma necesidad de un encuentro personal con “el hijo de Dios”, escuchar su palabra y direccionar sus vidas según esa propuesta de vida y salvación que nos ha dejado y que la Iglesia guarda y proclama celosamente en todos los ambientes, para que también Ellos comprendan la profundidad de la invocación que se hace en tantas ocasiones en las filas : “ El Señor de los ejércitos”.In public ministry Jesus, according to some accounts in the gospels, we find moments of encounter of the Lord with members of the militias of that time, soldiers and centurions serving the Roman army, We could say with complete certainty that they were the first announcements of the good news to this group of men subjected to the discipline of a training to face the conflicts of different eras of society.
