El objetivo del presente trabajo fue comprender los significados y las experiencias acerca del duelo en personas privadas de la libertad en la cárcel la cuarenta de la ciudad de Pereira. El método de estudio se llevó a cabo con 12 personas privadas de la libertad, mediante una entrevista semiestructurada, donde se realizaron preguntas abiertas sobre los puntos de interés. Los resultados evidencian que cada sujeto vivencia la perdida de manera distinta, las circunstancias y el contexto hace que sea una experiencia personal, así pues, es importante tener presente el ciclo vital familiar y la reacción ante la pérdida que el sujeto tiene, no solo ante la pérdida de su libertad, sino también a la de su familia./abstract: Human beings have the ability to adapt to the environments that the world demands, there is no subject deprived of freedom in a radical change that becomes complex, that does not have the same conditions that it had before being in a prison center. The objective of this work was to understand the meanings and experiences about grief in people deprived of freedom in the City of Pereira. The study method was carried out with 12 people deprived of their liberty, through a semi-structured interview, where open questions were asked about the points of interest. The results show that each subject lives the other alternative, the circumstances and the context make a personal experience, therefore, it is important to keep in mind the family life cycle and the reaction to the loss that the subject does not have before loss of freedom, but a certain fashion to his family.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
