Ningún sector económico estaba preparado para afrontar una crisis sanitaria como la que generó la pandemia de la Covid-19, coyuntura que no fue ajena para la gastronomía mundial, llevándolo a ser uno de las industrias más afectadas, evidenciando la quiebra de miles de restaurantes alrededor del mundo. Solo en Colombia las ventas en este sector cayeron un 81% y más de 48.100 restaurantes cerraron sus puertas definitivamente. Esta crisis generada por la pandemia de la Covid-19 generó daños de tal magnitud que algunos de los restaurantes más importantes y representativos de la cocina tradicional de las ciudades de Armenia y Pereira tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas para siempre, sin la posibilidad de reapertura. Y del mismo modo otros restaurantes tuvieron que reinventar su modelo de negocio para poder sobrevivir a esta crisis sin precedentes. Por tal motivo, el proyecto periodístico Covid a la Carta pretende demostrar y contextualizar, con la ayuda de antecedentes, testimonios de propietarios afectados, voces expertas en gastronomía y exploración investigativa de carácter narrativo, con aportes en lo cualitativo y cuantitativo, el proceso de crisis económica en el sector gastronómico en Quindío y Risaralda, lo que llevó al cierre definitivo de restaurantes tradicionales de las ciudades de Armenia y Pereira, como consecuencia de la crisis pandémica Covid-19.Covid a la Carta es una revista digital que consta de 48 páginas y está dividida en secciones de la siguiente manera: la revista cuenta con una portada, contraportada, índice, una sección donde evidencia cómo la pandemia afectó el sector gastronómico regional, una segunda sección donde se muestran los dos casos de cierre de restaurantes tradicionales en la ciudad de Armenia y Pereira, una tercera sección que son los datos y cifras de la afectación en el país y en la región, la tercera sección desarrolla el contenido en cuanto a los restaurantes que tuvieron que reinventar su forma de atención al público, finalmente el contenido se complementa con columnas de opinión de las voces expertas en este tema y con las entrevistas a los chefs reconocidos nacional e internacionalmente, en donde expondrán su opinión respecto a la situación actual.
