Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2018.Desde el contexto étnico del resguardo La Montaña en Riosucio (Colombia), este artículo aborda un recorrido sobre las diferentes definiciones e implicaciones de identidad y se argumenta el por qué es necesario usar el término identificación con el propósito de describir los rasgos con los que se identifica una persona indígena. Por su parte, la tradición oral juega un papel muy importante en el proceso de identificación indígena, pues con ella se da lugar a la transmisión de conocimientos y costumbres de los cuales son portadores los líderes de las comunidades. Ellos son quienes tienen el encargo de dar a conocer la estructura del discurso que los hace ser identificados como indígenas en un contexto intercultural, esto con el propósito de obtener beneficios del Estado. \ Abstract: From the ethnic context of La Montaña reservation in Riosucio (Colombia), this article addresses a journey through the different definitions and implications of identity and argues why it is necessary to use the term identification in order to describe the traits which identify an indigenous person. On the other hand, the oral tradition plays a very important role in the process of indigenous identification, because with it, the transmission of knowledge and customs take place. Community leaders are the ones who promote this transmission of knowledge and customs since they are in charge to spread the discourse that identifies them as indigenous people into an intercultural context, this with the purpose to obtain benefits from the State.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
