Summary:In order to establish the anthropometric profile in handball athletes. 120 athletes were valuated (Medad = 15.1 years, DE = 1.8,) between clubs Cafeteros cuyabros Armenia and Calarca, Quindio, through a Non-Experimental design relational descriptive scope of cross section. indicate that anthropometric dimensions They are significantly correlated: age, height (r = .30, p <.01), BMI (r = .26, p <.01), and subscapularis fold (r = .23, p <.01) related. in turn, the size related to the abdominal crease (r = 0.18, p <0.05). as the BMI related to all the folds and the fat percentage equation (r = .65, p <.01). the corporal dimensions do not discriminate according to the playing position or age group. Among men and women if there are differences except BMI. the implications of these results contribute to the characterization of a profile of anthropometric measurements handball and his utility aims to detect athletes, and contribution to the line of knowledge about the formative sport.
