Summary: | Hypertension is one of the main factors that contribute to causing heart disease and stroke, which together represent the most important cause of premature death and disability. The overall objective of this study is to determine the influence of a physical exercise program on the lipid profile of hypertensive individuals belonging to Red Salud, in the city of Armenia, Quindío. After selecting the adult population belonging to Red Salud, the methodological process is divided into two, before and after the physical exercise program, in order to analyze the influence that will have on hypertensive patients. For the analysis of the study we took into account some variables: age, height, weight, BMI, abdominal perimeter and lipid profile. At the end of the physical exercise program, these were the results: according to the BMI analysis, the patients were overweight (25.0 - 29.9), at the lipid profile level it was found that after physical exercise the average total cholesterol was 199.28 mmg / Dl, c-HDL was 36.21mmg / dl, LDL was 132.34mmg / dl and triglycerides 152.50mmg / dl.
