Description
Summary:This study aimed at investigate which were the best techniques to teach English to people with cognitive disabilities based on learning styles. The research was carried out in Programa Crecer Semillas de Esperanza de Comfenalco, Quindio. One group of ten people participated in the classes to develop the research project who received six classes of two hours each Tuesday. The study comprises the action research. The data were collected through class observations, interview to the teacher, journals, videos and English test. The findings of the study indicated that every person, no matter which cognitive disability could have, they could learn English, in a different level each one of them but, it is necessary to keep them separated during the classes due to the fact that not all of them have the same cognitive process to achieve knowledge.
