Summary:The directed sport in higher education constitutes a formative process of integration and socialization of the Colombian university student. Practitioners, in some cases are not in conditions to participate, because there are features that contribute to the functionality, this is how in the case of football, body composition and eating habits occupy a place, to meet some of the conditions that fit between what is known as optimal. The general objective of this work was to determine the body composition and eating habits during a microcycle shock of the selection of men's soccer of the University of Quindío. As specific objectives, it was proposed: To evaluate the corporal composition of the students belonging to the selection of masculine soccer of the University of the Quindío. Value the food consumption of the students belonging to the men's soccer team of the University of Quindío. Methodology: The focus of this research was quantitative, descriptive scope and longitudinal design. The anthropometric evaluation was carried out under the recommendations of the International Society for Advancement in Kineantropometry. For the evaluation of food intake, a four-day record was used by means of the anamnesis of the previous day. Statgraphics Centurion software was used for the statistical analysis. Results: the population was made up of 22 students belonging to the selection of soccer of the University of Quindío, with an average of chronological age of 22, 6 years of age. Average morphological age of 20.72 years. Average mass of 68 Kg. Average height of 172cm. Average waist hip index of 0.85. Average BMI of 23.49 Kg/m².. The average percentage of body composition was: Adipose 8.6%; Muscular 48.13%; Bone 9.35% and Residual 13.21%. The average dietary intake was as follows: Carbohydrates 325.29gr; Proteins 108.06gr; Lipids 98.22gr and Kilocalories 2604.55. Conclusions: The students belonging to the selection of men's soccer of the University of Quindío show in the results of corporal composition, to be in ideal ranges for sportsmen as for the percentages of adipose tissue and muscular mass. The representative university football team of the study carried out, showed some irregularities in terms of recommendations for daily consumption of macronutrients given by the maximum entity of football which is the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) and other authors.
