Se realiza una breve reseña histórica de la empresa, su conformación, organización jerárquica y operativa en el ambiente interno. Adicionalmente se selecciona el producto alambre y se realiza un análisis a las 106 mejores prácticas logísticas aplicadas. En este ejercicio se reconoce la relación e importancia de los proveedores y se confirma el resultado en el trabajo de campo en el cual se aplican encuestas y otras estrategias que arrojan puntajes o valores numéricamente estables. En este punto se destaca principalmente el desarrollo en tecnología de manipulación, almacenaje, transporte interno, externo, software y barreras del entorno con una consecuente calificación nivelada y sostenida. Sin embargo, en las demás áreas operativas los puntajes muestran un notorio descenso dejando como punto crítico de estudio y análisis la logística de reversa. Se evidencia que es necesaria la integración, planeación, control, almacenamiento y distribución de materia prima al igual que los productos terminados porque se detecta que la tendencia a la tercerización es vital para permanecer en el mercado. Así mismo, los medios, métodos y sistemas de transporte no favorecen la correcta aplicación de la herramienta Suppy Chain Mangement y Logística que nace como alternativa correctiva a la realidad industrial y empresarial que estamos enfrentando actualmente.The purpose of conducting this study for graduation is to determine the implementation and management of supply chain management and logistics within the company Paz del Río which is one of the largest steel companies in the country known for its great economic and social coverage as well as having installed capacity in their business operations. A brief history of the company, its structure , hierarchical and operational organization in the internal environment is performed. Additionally the wire, as product, is selected and an analysis of the 106 best logistics practices applied is performed. In this exercise the relationship and importance of providers is recognized and the result is confirmed in the field with surveys and other strategies that yield stable scores or numerical values. At this point it stands out mainly the developing of technology handling, warehousing, inland and external transportation, software and environmental barriers with consistent and sustained 4 level of qualification. However, in other operational areas the scores show a marked decline leaving as critical the study and analysis of reverse logistics. There is evidence that integration , planning , control, storage and distribution of raw materials as well as finished products is necessary because it is detected that the trend towards outsourcing is vital to stay on the market .
