Teniendo en cuenta que la mayoría de las empresas colombianas, son micros con el 96.1%, pequeñas 3.2%, medianas 0.5% y grandes solo el 0.1% de acuerdo a información del DANE en estudio realizado para los años desde 1990 hasta el 2005 cuya proporción se mantiene, es muy importante que los recursos se manejen con eficiencia y eficacia para ser utilizados de la mejor manera y por sobretodo obtener el máximo objetivo de una empresa la cual es maximizar el valor de la entidad y por ende el de sus dueños.
