El SARS CoV2 (COVID 19) afectó al personal de salud, en especial al grupo ocupacional de Enfermería. Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de la infección por Coronavirus (COVID-19) en el personal de enfermería del hospital Santa Mónica en el municipio de Dosquebradas durante el 2020 y 2021. Método: estudio descriptivo de tipo observacional, se aplicó un instrumento propiedad de la OMS, utilizando 7 de las 10 variables. Resultados: La prevalencia de infección fue de 22,3 % durante el 2020 y 2021, resaltando además que el 60% del personal entrevistado corresponde a trabajadores dedicados a pacientes COVID, de género femenino en un 96%, con falta de capacitación en la atención y manejo del paciente COVID en el 24% de la población; y con presencia de sintomatología constante en los empleados expuestos, como dolor de garganta en el 60%. Conclusiones: En cuanto al huésped; prevaleció el contagio por SARS COV2 en las auxiliares de enfermería. En el ambiente se logró determinar que la prevalencia de infección por SARS COV2 fue en la institución sanitaria debido al colapso del servicio, resaltando que el 76% del personal recibió capacitación sobre la atención al paciente COVID-19 positivo. En cuanto al agente, más de la mitad de la población objeto de estudio estuvo presente en procedimientos generadores de aerosoles de pacientes COVID-19 positivos lo cual aumento el riesgo sustancialmente a contagiarse por el virus SARS COV2 ya que la fuente de infección de este es a través de partículas respiratorias. |

Results: the prevalence of infection was 22.3% during 2020 and 2021, also highlighting that 60% of the personnel interviewed corresponds to workers dedicated to COVID patients, female gender in 96%, with lack of training in the care and management of the COVID patient in 24% of the population; and with the presence of constant symptomatology in exposed employees, such as sore throat in 60%. Conclusions: Regarding the host; SARS COV2 infection prevailed in nursing assistants. In the environment, it was possible to determine that the prevalence of SARS COV2 infection was in the health institution due to the collapse of the service, highlighting that 76% of the personnel received training on COVID-19 positive patient care.
