description	El plan de gestión ambiental es un conjunto de etapas que tienen por objetivo planificar estrategias para evitar, controlar, corregir y mitigar los impactos ambientales negativos que se presentan en un proyecto o entidad en consideración y obedeciendo la legislación colombiana determinada, generando una disminución de los riesgos ambientales ocasionados por actividades del personal de trabajo. La función del Sistema de Gestión Ambiental a través de la norma ISO 14000-14001 es la de cuidar y prevenir la contaminación ambiental y poder lograr un desarrollo sostenible en las entidades, últimamente ha habido un progreso significativo en la práctica de la gestión Ambiental, sin embargo, su implementación no ha sido tan predominantemente en las organizaciones. La Gestión Ambiental es un área de la gestión empresarial que trabaja en temas referentes al medio ambiente, ayudando a su conservación, con responsabilidades de planeación, ejecución y vigilancia y/o control de la organización, prácticas, procedimientos, y los recursos para establecer la política ambiental que requiera la empresa.
