Estas estrategias cat friendly buscan mejorar la experiencia del gato en entornos veterinarios, promoviendo su bienestar y facilitando el proceso de atención médicaManaging stress in cats during veterinary visits presents significant challenges, influenced by their domestication process and unmet physiological needs, which can trigger stressful behaviors and affect their overall well-being. The veterinary environment stands out as a place where cats experience high levels of stress, which can have negative effects on their behavior, immune system, and pose risks to veterinary personnel. Chronic stress is identified as a major welfare problem in felines, with negative impacts on physiological parameters and the diagnostic process. The descriptive study is based on ethological theory in felines, focusing on stress management in veterinary environments, with veterinarians specializing in animal behavior from Medellin and Bogota, Colombia, as the target population. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed using SPSS. Recommended techniques for stress management include an initial interview with the cat's guardian to review medical history and the possibility of prior medication. It is suggested to request previous videos to anticipate the cat's behavior. During the consultation, an environmental management approach is proposed, including placing the cat in a high and covered carrier, waiting for it to voluntarily come out, maintaining a soft tone of voice, and conducting a minimally invasive physical examination. The use of relaxing music, hand washing before each consultation, and positive association with snacks as rewards are encouraged. In transportation and waiting areas, it is advised to keep the cat separated and have a scale in the office. Additional resources such as Feliway, Bach flowers, lavender oil (on hands), and catnip are suggested to reduce stress. These cat-friendly strategies aim to improve the cat's experience in veterinary environments, promoting their welfare and facilitating the medical care process.PregradoMédico VeterinarioIntroducción 12 Planteamiento del Problema 14 Descripción del Problema 14 Pregunta de Investigación 15 Justificación 16 Objetivos 20 Objetivo General 20 Objetivos Específicos 20 Marco Referencial 21 Marco Teórico 21 Marco Contextual 27 Marco Legal 28 Consentimiento Informado 28 Uso Académico 28 Derechos de Publicación 28 Duración del Consentimiento 28 Responsabilidad Legal y Ética 28 Metodología 30 Tipo de Estudio 30 Población y Muestra 30 Criterios de Inclusión y Exclusión 30 Procedimientos 30 Análisis Estadístico 30 Consideraciones Éticas 32 Ley 1774 de 2016 32 Ley 84 de 1989 Capítulo I Artículo 1 32 Ley 84 de 1989 Capítulo I Artículo 2 32 Ley 84 de 1989 Capítulo II Artículo 4 33 Ley 576 de 2000, Artículo 14 33 Resultados 34 Interacción con el Tutor 40 Discusión 43 Conclusiones 47 Recomendaciones 49 Referencias Bibliográficas 50 Apéndices 5559 papplication/pdfapplication/mswordUniversidad de SantanderT 35.24 M262aRepositorio Digital Universidad de Santanderhttps://repositorio.udes.edu.cohttps://repositorio.udes.edu.co/handle/001/10766spaUniversidad de SantanderBucaramangaFacultad de Ciencias Agrícolas y VeterinariasBucaramanga, ColombiaMedicina VeterinariaAmat, M., Camps, T., & Manteca, X.
