The present study evaluated endothelial function, inflammatory parameters, and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) in dyslipidemic patients with or without coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods. Metabolic profile and inflammatory parameters were determined in dyslipidemic patients with (+CAD, n = 33) and without (−CAD, n = 69) symptomatic CAD. Endothelial function was evaluated by flow mediated dilatation (FMD) and plasma concentration of nitrites and nitrates. Carotid IMT was measured by ultrasound. Results. No significant differences were observed in anthropometric hemodynamic or metabolic parameters between the groups. After adjusting by age and medication usage, some inflammatory markers were significantly higher in +CAD; however. no significant differences in FMD or plasma levels of nitrites were observed. Conclusions. In subjects with dyslipidemia, the presence of CAD is associated with an elevation of certain inflammatory markers and carotid IMT but not with further endothelial dysfunction.application/pdf10.1155/2009/4691691466-18610962-9351https://repositorio.udes.edu.co/handle/001/3290engMediators of InflammationDerechos Reservados - Mediators of Inflammation, 2009info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAtribución-NoComercial 4.0 Internacional (CC BY-NC 4.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://www.hindawi.com/journals/mi/2009/469169/Endothelial DysfunctionSeverity of Coronary Artery DiseaseDyslipidemic SubjectsInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjectsArtículo de revistahttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1Textinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/ARTinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionhttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85PublicationTHUMBNAILInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjects.pdf.jpgInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjects.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg1587https://repositorio.udes.edu.co/bitstreams/b1e9190a-5b20-4f81-b2e2-38dfa5fedbb5/download3bdaa7f7e963469685c14171330b9716MD54ORIGINALInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjects.pdfArtículo Principalapplication/pdf1521689https://repositorio.udes.edu.co/bitstreams/9b389361-91dc-42f8-a019-2b4710dc70ac/download9d17033e3a505deba0dfad2afd704e44MD55LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-859https://repositorio.udes.edu.co/bitstreams/90fb0125-8c7d-4ee9-9704-97e01edda566/download38d94cf55aa1bf2dac1a736ac45c881cMD52TEXTInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjects.pdf.txtInflammation but not endothelial dysfunction is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in dyslipidemic subjects.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain34185https://repositorio.udes.edu.co/bitstreams/dc2926be-f2e5-44f1-8f7c-1351f5142025/download2a4605c87fb43f7e45dc79bd8fcc823bMD53001/3290oai:repositorio.udes.edu.co:001/32902023-10-10 08:53:41.58https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/Derechos Reservados - Mediators of Inflammation, 2009https://repositorio.udes.edu.coRepositorio Universidad de Santandersoporte@metabiblioteca.comTGljZW5jaWEgZGUgUHVibGljYWNpw7NuIFVERVMKRGlyZWN0cmljZXMgZGUgVVNPIHkgQUNDRVNPCgo=
