Summary: | This document considers the analysis of the reality of organ donation and the contrast between supply and demand in Colombia, as an input for the solution of the health problems of a specific population called recipients. For this purpose, it uses exploratory qualitative research, with secondary information sources, found in the pages of national and international institutions regulating the object of study, scientific documents, information provided by the media and social networks. With this, the written research report, alludes in its referential framework to the Guiding Principles on Human Transplantation, issued by the World Health Organization, as a base document for the appropriate implementation; the background of donation and transplantation in Colombia and the technical and operational requirements established. The study identified a legal feasibility for the mobility of organs and tissues in the country, given the existing legal support; technical and operational feasibility from the institutional framework and processes; but restricted to the national level for the case of heart and lung transplantation, due to the ischemia times of these organs. |
