Summary:The textile sector is one of the most important in Colombia, for years, it has strongly contributed to the generation of employment in the country; For the municipality of El Santuario, the same occurs with the textile sector. In 2019, it had 429 business units in the textile, clothing, design, fashion and accessories sector, which represented 12.75% of the business fabric of the region. , quite an important figure for the municipality, meaning greater employability for its inhabitants, improving the economy of the municipality, and stable income for families. The Sanctuary has the highest business density in terms of the textile sector in the East above municipalities such as Rionegro, La Ceja or El Carmen de Viboral. Identifying the importance of the textile sector in the municipality, for the year 2019 a public policy is issued to fulfill the purpose of improving competitiveness, productivity, and business development of the textile, clothing, design, fashion and accessories sector in the municipality of the sanctuary. This public policy can contribute to the textile sector by generating changes in economic policy, and provides the community with economic and social development of the territory and its inhabitants employability, improvement of the economy of the municipality and stable income for families. This research project seeks to identify the impact of this public policy for the municipality.
